(Industrial Development Permit with Variances)

The applicant is proposing to construct a large storage building that will operate in conjunction with the existing commercial storage use at 705 Old Town Road

In the development of industrial land, applicant/owners are required to provide certain upgrades, both on and off-site, through the District's Subdivision and Servicing Bylaw No. 500. In this instance the applicant is requesting that Council consider:

  • waiving the requirement for road dedication along Solsqua Road and;
  • that a combination of asphalt millings and crushed asphalt be used in place of asphalt surfacing for all areas on-site.

Twin Anchors is proposing the construction of a concession (with washrooms accessible to the public) on the site adjacent to the marina

The site plan and elevations submitted with the application can be viewed by accessing the links. The building will be completed with a wood finish and the existing building will be finished to match.

1214 Riverside Avenue - 1152143 BC Ltd. (Brenda Dalzell)

(Temporary Use Permit)

The owner of Interior Design Studio and The Bridge at 1214 Riverside Avenue is requesting Council support to bring up to 4 food trucks on the property. To read more about the applicants proposal please read the letter that they provided with their application. They have also provided a site plan that shows a proposed layout for the food trucks. 

Under the Local Government Act and the District Official Community Plan, owners of Commercially or Industrially used land may make application to Council for the temporary use of their land for uses that are not compliant with the permitted uses under the Zoning Bylaw for their property. Temporary Use Permits are valid for up to 3 years.

1229 Trans Canada Frontage Road - Shell Canada (WSP Consulting)

Shell Canada is proposing to add a car wash facility  (with washrooms) to the existing retail and service station at 1229 Trans Canada Frontage Road

Council considered the issuance of Development Permit No. 20-049-DP at the May 13, 2020 Regular Council meeting and passed a resolution of the support for the issuance of the permit contingent on a landscape plan and security being provided by the applicant.
