The District of Sicamous is undertaking a targeted refresh of the Official Community Plan to keep it current and aligned with recent changes and community priorities.

What is an Official Community Plan? An OCP is a comprehensive long-term planning document that directs the growth and development of our community. It helps guide staff and Council decision-making on matters such as housing, transportation, economic development, parks and recreation, land use, arts, culture and more.

Sicamous’ Official Community Plan (OCP) was adopted in 2016. OCPs must be reviewed every 5 years (as per provincial law) to ensure they continue to reflect the community’s needs and priorities.

This OCP update will focus on:
  • Modernizing housing and land use policies based on updated growth projections and recent provincial housing legislation.
  • Refreshing development permit guidelines to reflect the community’s long-term vision.
  • Updating goals, policies, and actions related to growth management, transportation, housing, environmental stewardship, and others.
  • Improving clarity and usability for staff, Council, and the development community.

We want to hear from you!
Your input will help ensure the updated OCP reflects Sicamous’s values, priorities, and future aspirations.
