The Kamloops Fire Centre has lifted the ban on category one campfires as of noon on Thursday, September 28, 2023. This is in response to lower temperatures and higher humidity as conditions improve.

Category two and category three open fires will remain prohibited until the Kamloops Fire Centre lifts orders.

The District of Sicamous Outdoor Burning Bylaw No. 452, 2002 permits the burning of leaves and yard trimmings ONLY during the first two weeks of April and the last two weeks of October. The maximum fire size of an open burn is 1 metre by 1 metre. Burn hot, add materials slowly to avoid smoke and keep tools and a water supply available to prevent spreading. Please note that this bylaw is subject to bans put in place by the Kamloops Fire Centre.
