Notice of Public Hearings: Zoning Amendment Bylaws No. 1044, 1048 and 1054

Three public hearings will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 5 p.m. in council chambers (District of Sicamous Municipal Hall, 446 Main Street, Sicamous, BC, V0E 2V0). The public hearings will consider Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1044, Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1048 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1054.

Bylaw No. 1044

  • Proposes rezoning the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail from R-1 One and Two-Unit Residential to P-3 Park - General.
  • Updates the CR Country Residential, MUR-2 Seasonal Accommodation and RVP-3 Recreational Vehicle Park 3 zones.
  • Applies more appropriate zoning to select parcels.
  • Corrects formatting errors.

Bylaw No. 1048

  • Replace the existing RVP-1 Recreational Vehicle Park Zone with two new site-specific zones: RVP-1 Recreational Vehicle Park 1 (Silver Sands) Zone and RVP-2 Recreational Vehicle Park 2 (Sicamous Sands) Zone.
  • The two zones will support the existing developments on properties located at 1383 Silver Sands Road and 1455 Silver Sands Road.

Bylaw No. 1054

  • Proposes a new RVP-4 Recreational Vehicle Park 4 Zone.
  • Rezones properties located at 902 Riverside and 102 Martin Street from C-4 Tourist Accommodation—Resort to RVP-4 Recreational Vehicle Park 4.
  • Will support the proposed recreational vehicle strata park development on subject properties.
  • Proposes to rezone marine portion of properties from W-3 Commercial Marina to W-2 Group Moorage.

If you believe that your interest in property is affected, you will be afforded an opportunity to be heard at the hearing or to submit written comments respecting the zoning amendment bylaws.

The public is encouraged to submit their comments in writing prior to the meeting. All comments received by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 will be provided to council. Please note that council is not permitted to receive submissions after the close of the public hearings. The District of Sicamous assumes no responsibility for correspondence not received by Municipal Hall prior to the public hearing.
