Riverside Avenue Watermain Replacement

If you can believe it, the existing water infrastructure on Riverside Avenue is over 50 years old!

Project Overview

  • The District of Sicamous is replacing the aging watermain line from 6" to 10". This will increase fire flow from Kappel Street to Martin Street.
  • Following the water main replacement and upgrade, the roadway will be reconstructed and the sidewalk on the west side will be repaved.
  • This project is funded by capital reserves and development cost charge contributions.

District of Sicamous Council identifies the maintenance and expansion of infrastructure as a strategic priority within the 2022 - 2026 period.

The first tie-in went well. The second tie-in will be scheduled in the upcoming weeks - stay tuned! Thank you for your understanding - we are looking forward to completing this project and having reliable services to offer our residents. Learn more!

The project is anticipated to begin during the third week of August and reach completion by early October.
