Annual Community Cleanup & Curbside Waste Pickup

The District of Sicamous and Sicamous Communities in Bloom celebrate Earth Day with a community clean up!

This year's annual community cleanup will take place on April 27, 2024. Those interested in the cleanup can meet at the Sicamous Curling Club at 8 a.m. Flowerbed volunteers can report to the Seniors' Centre at 8 a.m. Please dress in highly visible layers for safety purposes. Free lunch will be provided to volunteers!

The District of Sicamous is one of 150 mobilizing municipalities involved in celebrating Earth Day Canada and driving the ecological transition.

Curbside Waste Pickup

The District of Sicamous will offer a free two-day waste pickup event to provide residents with an opportunity to clean up their yards and dispose of unwanted items. No household garbage, please! Items should be placed at the end of your driveway by 7 a.m. for curbside pickup.

May 6, 2024: Metal Materials

  • Disposal of white goods only such as hot water tanks, stoves, washers, dryers, fridges and freezers.
  • No auto bodies/parts, toxic waste, batteries, commercial/household waste will be accepted.

May 7, 2024: Organic Yard Waste

  • Disposal of grass clippings, leaves, pruning and weeds.
  • Put organic waste in clear garbage bags.
  • Tree limbs up to 8" in diameter can be wrapped in bundles.
