Maintaining clean, safe and well-maintained properties is an important part of keeping Sicamous a welcoming community. First impressions matter.
Good Neighbour Bylaw No. 1005, 2021 outlines standards for property upkeep, including landscape maintenance and the removal of discarded materials. Property owners are expected to keep their properties in compliance with these regulations.
As part of our seasonal approach to community standards, the District of Sicamous will be monitoring properties throughout the spring and summer. Residents whose properties are not in compliance with the Good Neighbour Bylaw will receive notification letters and may be subject to further enforcement if issues are not addressed.
Please also note that burning yard waste outside permitted periods in April and October is prohibited under Outdoor Burning Bylaw No. 452, 2002.
Yard waste can be disposed of at the Sicamous Landfill, which is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yard waste is free during spring cleanup from May 1 to June 14, 2026. The Sicamous Landfill accepts a wide range of materials. Visit the Sicamous Landfill webpage for details on accepted materials and fees.
Thank you for doing your part to help keep Sicamous clean, safe and welcoming for all.
