Okanagan/Similkameen Intercommunity Business Licence

Why buy several different business licences when you can buy just one inter-community business licence?

An inter-community business is one that performs a service or activity within more than one participating municipality. The business does not have a storefront or location other than in their home or principal municipality and provides services or does business by moving from client to client. 20 municipalities and regional districts in the region participate! The cost of an inter-community business license is $150 in addition to a standard business license fee. Learn more!

Provincial Short-Term Rental Registry

A short-term rental (STR) is an accommodation, not subject to a tenancy agreement, offered at a daily, weekly or monthly rate.

In addition to your District business license, STR hosts, platforms and strata hotel platforms in B.C. must register with the province and pay annual registration fees.

Both the District of Sicamous Business License Bylaw and provincial regulations require hosts to include their current business license number on all advertisements. Don’t forget to update your license number at the start of each year to avoid penalties.
