Campfire Ban in Effect July 10, 2026

Effective at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, Category 1 campfires will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

This prohibition will remain in effect until 12 p.m. on October 9, 2026, or until the order is rescinded.

The District of Sicamous is located within the Kamloops Fire Centre and follows all bans and restrictions set out by BC Wildfire Service.

Current prohibitions include:

  • Category 1 Campfires (small campfires)
  • Category 2 and Category 3 open fires
  • Other high-risk fire activities as outlined by BC Wildfire Service
