As of 12 p.m. (noon) on May 7, 2026, all Category 2 and 3 open fires are prohibited within the Kamloops Fire Centre.
Category 2 open fires include material not exceeding two metres in height and three metres in width. Category 3 open fires include an material exceeding two metres in height and three metres in width.
In addition, the following activities and use of equipment, materials and substances are also restricted throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre:
- Air curtain burners
- Carbonizers
- Fireworks (note that fireworks are always prohibited within the District of Sicamous)
- Burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description, except when used for a Category 1 campfire
- Controlled air incinerators
