October 31, 2025 – Clayton Allen, a long-standing member and leader of the Sicamous Fire Department, is to be appointed fire chief for the District of Sicamous. Clayton will step into the full-time role on November 24, 2025.
“I am honoured and humbled to accept the position of fire chief,” says Clayton. “To my firefighters, thank you for your dedication and trust. To our community, I promise to uphold the values that keep us safe and strong.”
Clayton started with the Sicamous Fire Department in 1998 before becoming deputy fire chief in 2003. Throughout his years in emergency services, Clayton has played a key role in mentoring generations of firefighters in Sicamous.
“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation that Clayton Allen has chosen to become our new Sicamous fire chief,” says Mayor Colleen Anderson. “Clayton’s dedication and commitment to our community have been recognized by his peers, his fire team, the District of Sicamous and our residents. Clayton brings extensive experience in overseeing officer responsibilities, conducting fire inspections and leading essential departmental operations. His years as deputy fire chief have prepared him to lead the team with a calm, professional approach.
“Fire Chief Allen brings extensive experience to this role with the fire department, and his focus on service delivery and the training and development of the paid-on-call team will serve our community well,” says CAO Dean Strachan. “I look forward to working with Fire Chief Allen to provide strong emergency services for Sicamous.”
