Daytime closures of the R.W. Bruhn Bridge will resume on September 16. The daytime full closures will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with single-lane-alternating traffic overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Another important update is that the existing sidewalk across the R.W. Bruhn Bridge on Highway 1 will is closed. To learn more, please review the key points below and the notice provided by the Ministry of Transportation & Transit.

  • Pedestrians can call a shuttle to cross the bridge from four locations - both ends of the R.W. Bruhn Bridge, on Gill Avenue and on Old Spallumcheen Road.
  • The shuttle service is available 24/7 until pedestrian access is reinstated across the bridge.
  • To use the shuttle, please call 1(672)969-7351 and indicate which sign you are located by.
  • Do not attempt to cross the bridge on foot.
  • While cycling across the bridge is permitted, cyclists are encouraged to use the shuttle for additional safety.

Thank you for continuing to reduce your speed throughout the construction zone to ensure the safety of travelers and everyone working on the project. DriveBC remains the best place to visit for real-time updates. Short term pain for long term gain and a safer future, Sicamous!
