Fair weather means that construction season is picking up in Sicamous. Residents are reminded to be mindful of permitted construction noise hours when planning outdoor projects and renovations.
Under Good Neighbour Bylaw No. 1005, 2021, construction work that disturbs the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort or convenience of people nearby is confined to certain hours. The regulations are as follows:
- Must not take place on a Monday to Saturday before 7 a.m. or after 8 p.m.
- Must not take place on a Sundays before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
If these regulations prove impossible or impractical, a person may request written approval from a bylaw administrator to carry on work that is found to be necessary.
Construction noise regulations are in place to help reduce disruptions and support a safe, respectful and enjoyable community for everyone. Whether you are completing a small backyard project or a larger renovation, working within permitted hours helps minimize impacts on nearby residents.
