Dogs must be on a leash on all public property in Sicamous. This includes all walking paths, parks, streets and neighbourhoods. Your dog, your responsibility!
Animal Control Bylaw No. 1013, 2022 states that "a person must not permit a dog in their care or custody to enter or be on any public property unless the dog is securely tethered to a leash at all times and is under full control of the person accompanying it."
Dogs may be off-leash when on their owner’s property or within designated off-leash areas, such as the Sicamous Dog Park (1450 Sicamous Solsqua Road).
Responsible dog ownership is essential to ensuring that public spaces remain safe and enjoyable for everyone. Individuals who do not comply with the regulations outlined in Animal Control Bylaw No. 1013, 2022 may be subject to fines.
