May 1, 2024 - The District of Sicamous is pleased to introduce Cherylee Sargeant, the municipality's new operations coordinator, who began on April 29, 2024.

Sargeant brings a wealth of experience in operations management, having worked in the parks department for the City of Airdrie in Alberta for almost 12 years. Sargeant started out as a maintenance crew leader before achieving the operations coordinator position, which she held for the final 10 years of her career in Airdrie.

"My main role was the day-to-day operations, including weekend and special community events," Sargeant shares. "I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the local spray park facility and cemetery and I assisted in the creation of the asset management program for the City of Airdrie."

In her new role with the district, Sargeant will work closely with the operations manager to coordinate the maintenance and management of District owned facilities, assets and services. 

"A year ago I decided I wanted to move to British Columbia and found a great opportunity to work at Twin Anchors Houseboats as a maintenance technician," says Sargeant, sharing how she found herself in Sicamous. "Since being here, I have fallen in love with the area and the people that I have met here so far."

Outside of work, Sargeant enjoys hanging out by the river with her dogs, riding her motorcycle through the mountains, camping, golfing and spending time at the lake with friends and family.

"I am excited about meeting new people and learning more about Sicamous," Sargeant concludes. "I look forward to serving the future needs of the members of this community."
