The District of Sicamous is pleased to introduce our new manager of financial services, Tom Maier. Maier comes to the District with many years of experience working for municipalities in Ontario and Alberta. He brings experience in corporate services, finance and administration to our team.

Maier began his career in local government as an intern for a resort and farming municipality along the shores of Lake Huron in Ontario. After a dozen of years working for municipalities in Ontario, Maier moved to Alberta, where he was the director of corporate services at the Town of Banff for 12 years before moving to the Town of High River first as the chief financial officer and then as the chief administrative officer.

"My wife and I recently relocated to the Shuswap region to enjoy our outdoor pursuits in one of the most beautiful regions of Canada," Maier shared. "I fell in love with the region while on a family vacation in 1981 when my parents took me and my brother on a boat tour of Shuswap Lake on the Phoebe Anne paddle wheeler." 

During the warm months, Tom enjoys biking on the road and in the mountains. In the winter, you can find Tom on the trails at Larch Hills on his cross-country skis.
