Our operations team was out late last night and is back at it today, working hard to clear debris and restore safe access across Sicamous following the July 16 storm event.
Sicamous Fire Rescue responded to 23 calls during the storm event and continue to conduct damage assessments following the storm event on July 16. The public is asked not to enter any unauthorized areas that have been cordoned off by Sicamous Fire Rescue or other emergency personnel, as several active investigations and assessments are still underway.
A huge thank you to the hardworking crews who responded to the challenges brought on by the storm. From clearing obstructed roadways and restoring power to ensuring the reliability of our water system, we couldn’t have done it without the dedicated team at the District of Sicamous, emergency response partners and local contractors who stepped up to help.
Thank you for your patience and support as cleanup efforts continue.
