The OCP Engagement Summary Report is now available!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our OCP community engagement events throughout June and July. Several events were hosted including pop-up booths, open houses, surveys and workshops.
Community engagement is a vital part of the OCP update process. It ensures the plan reflects local values, priorities, and lived experiences. By sharing ideas and feedback, residents help shape the direction of future growth and development, creating a plan grounded in community needs and aligned with provincial requirements.
This What We Learned Report is a living document that will be updated regularly throughout the Official Community Plan (OCP) update process. It is intended to serve several key purposes:
- Document community input – to capture the ideas, priorities, and vision shared by residents and stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and transparency – to act as a channel for sharing back what we heard, confirming that feedback is interpreted correctly and communicated openly to remain accountable to the community.
- Maintain a record of engagement – to provide a lasting reference of the input received, which will help shape this OCP and may also inform future planning projects and initiatives.
We are now in Phase 4: Preparation and Presentation of the Draft OCP. Guided by the feedback from the community engagement events, the first draft of the OCP will be prepared. District staff and residents will have the opportunity to review and provide input, ensuring the plan reflects our community’s shared vision.
