On Wednesday, we were honoured to welcome the grade 5/6 class from Parkview Elementary to Municipal Hall!

Mayor Anderson led the students on a tour of the office, giving them a peek into municipal operations and the chance to meet staff who help keep our community running.

Following the tour, Mayor and council held a mock Town Hall, focusing on Finlayson Park to gain youth perspective for the Finlayson Park Master Plan currently underway. Students shared what they love about the park and visionary ideas for its future!

As part of their persuasive writing curriculum, students also wrote letters to council with thoughtful suggestions for community improvement. Mayor and council are hard at work preparing responses to each letter.

We can't wait to see what the future holds for these bright young minds.
