Periodic Closures of the Sicamous Narrows as R.W. Bruhn Bridge Work Continues

Over-water girder installation will begin in mid-April and continue until mid-May 2026. This work will require the closure of the Sicamous Narrows underneath the R.W. Bruhn Bridge and the Finlayson Street Boat Launch.

Closures begin tentatively on April 13, 2026. Please note that all dates are subject to change due to weather and progress of work. Closures will begin at 8 a.m. and continue for approximately eight hours, or until the work is complete. If installation cannot take place on the scheduled day due to weather, it will be completed the next day that conditions are suitable.

This step forward represents a major milestone for the R.W. Bruhn Bridge and Approaches project. The project team has worked closely with a marine liaison committee to ensure that there is as much communication and as little interruption as possible while this important work is completed.
