On Sunday, April 19, 2026, BC Hydro will conduct a planned power outage in the Sicamous area to perform critical maintenance on the transmission line serving the region.
The work is essential to enhance the reliability, safety and efficiency of the region’s power system.

- Date: Sunday, April 19, 2026
- Time: 7am to 3pm
- Customers affected: approximately 4,500
All impacted customers with up-to-date contact information have already received initial notifications via e-mail and automated phone calls. A second round of notifications will be sent two weeks ahead of the outage.
Several thousand customers in the Sicamous area rely the transmission line that feeds the community and outlying region. To maintain and strengthen the reliability of the line, BC Hydro needs to conduct work to perform critical maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
In order to ensure the safety of our crews and the public, power to our infrastructure needs to be turned off and this important work must be done in daylight. The outage will impact about 4,500 customers.
