Riverside Avenue Watermain Replacement Project: Mobilization of Next Step

The District of Sicamous is moving forward with critical infrastructure upgrades, including the replacement of the 50-year-old watermain on Riverside Avenue.

The next step of the project will see the replacement of approximately 270 metres of waterline, sidewalk and roadway between Martin Street and Temple Street. The existing 6-inch waterline will be upgraded to a 10-inch line, providing increased reliability and improved fire flow for the community.

Site mobilization is scheduled for August 28 and 29, with construction to begin directly after Labour Day. The contractor will work to minimize impacts to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic along Riverside Avenue and will ensure customer and employee access to businesses is maintained throughout the project.

Thank you for your patience as this important work is completed. This phase of the project represents another key step toward improving the reliability and capacity of Sicamous’ water system.
