Community Space for Rent – The Lakes

The health centre features 3,200 square feet of rentable community space. The space is bright and welcoming, with arched windows inspired by the surrounding lakes that filter in natural light.  In the spirit of Sicamous’ beautiful surroundings, the space has been named The Lakes and offers an option to divide the layout into two separate rooms named Shuswap and Mara.

To inquire about renting the community space, please contact our recreation programmer at recreation@sicamous.ca.

Truth & Reconciliation

An integral part of the Sek’emaws (Sicamous) Health Centre is the traditional healing space dedicated to practicing Indigenous healing and honouring traditional ways of knowing. The District of Sicamous and Splatsin té Secwépemc continue to work towards a meaningful use of this space to best suit the needs of our communities.  Now that the centre is complete and accessible, work is underway to fully utilize this space.

Looking Forward

While the building is operational, some work remains outstanding, including:

  • Artwork finalization and installation
  • Landscaping – including public input
  • Signage installation
  • Final contractor deficiency works

We ask that residents and visitors refrain from exploring the space until finishing touches are complete. We look forward to welcoming you to the new health centre and are planning a grand opening celebration this fall. Stay tuned for details!
