Sicamous Tourism Advisory Committee Call for Volunteers

The District of Sicamous Development Corporation (“DOSDC”) is seeking interested individuals in serving on the DOSDC Tourism Advisory Committee starting late September 2025. The first task will be to finalize the 2026 One Year Tactical MRDT Tourism Plan.

The purpose and mandate of the Tourism Advisory Committee (“the TAC”) is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to the DOSDC Board of Directors, Executive Director and staff.  Specifically, the committee reviews and recommends the following:

  • Five-year tourism strategy for District of Sicamous and updates thereto
  • Annual destination marketing strategy and tactics for District of Sicamous, identifying priority investments of Municipal Regional District Tax (“MRDT”) and anticipated measures of success
  • Annual review of completed investments made with MRDT funds and results achieved, including annual report to Ministry of Finance
  • Communication and advocacy strategies to build awareness of the value of the tourism industry in District of Sicamous

Committee members will provide critical input and feedback and provide both the perspective gained from their own local business experience, and the perspective of the entire District of Sicamous destination.

We are looking for a total of 10 members for the TAC Board to serve one and two year terms and strive to achieve the following representation:

  • MRDT Collectors (3 seats)
  • Houseboat & Marine Operators (1 seat)
  • Sled Sicamous / OHV (1 seat)
  • Food & Beverage Sector (1 seat)
  • Retail Sector (1 seat)
  • Visitor Information Centre (1 seat)
  • Community Member at Large (1 seat)
  • District of Sicamous Development Corporation representative – Chair (1 seat)
