Local governments are required by legislation to provide statutory public notice on certain matters of public interest, such as elections, public hearings and disposition of land.
The District of Sicamous provides statutory public notice via the following channels:

Posts a notice to the District of Sicamous website;

Sends out the notice via the District of Sicamous email subscription service;

Posts the notice on the community bulletin board located in the lobby of municipal hall; and
-
Publishes the notice in one edition of the Salmon Arm Observer.

Background
- At the November 12 committee of the whole meeting, staff provided background information on council's ability to adopt a public notice bylaw. The committee discussed their interest in the bylaw and asked staff to prepare a draft bylaw. Watch the meeting!
