Work in the 2026 Election

The District of Sicamous is currently recruiting election officials to assist with the 2026 General Local Election.  Join the team powering the polling station this fall!

Key Dates

  • mandatory training session will be held prior to advance voting day.
  • Advance Voting Day – October 7, 2026. The polling station will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and election officials will be expected to arrive early and stay late for set-up and tear-down.
  • General Voting Day – October 17, 2026. The polling station will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and election officials will be expected to arrive early and stay late for set-up and tear-down. 

Who Can Work in the Election?

You can apply to work in the election if you: 

  • Are legally able to work in Canada
  • Are 18 years or older
  • Can attend mandatory election training session
  • Are available on general voting day and advance voting day
  • Are physically able to work the full voting day (approx. 7 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. depending on position)
  • Are willing and able to remain on site at the voting location at all times, from the beginning of the shift until the end of the shift
  • Can make a solemn declaration of impartiality and have no personal connection to any candidate
  • Note: You do not need to be a Canadian citizen.
