BC Backyard Ultra (BCBYU) will be hosted at the Sicamous Public Beach Park!
Previously hosted in Little Mountain Park in Salmon Arm, the BCBYU supports the
Canadian Championship Series & Big Dog's Backyard Ultra World Championship.
The winner of BCBYU will receive the silver coin and an invitation to participate in
the 2024 Canadian Championship. The winner of the 2024 Canadian Championship
will have opportunity to compete in the 2025 World Championship at Big Dog's
Backyard!
BCBYU starts at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 26. Every hour on the hour, runners must
complete 6706 meters (4.167 miles/6.7056 kms), until there is one person remaining.
When the bell rings at the start of every hour, all racers must be ready to go and in
the starting chute. If they are not in the starting chute and do not start when the
bell rings, they are disqualified. BCBYU went for 39 hours (162.5 MILES/ 261.5 KM) in
2022 and 43 hours (179.18 MILES/ 288.65 KM) in 2023.
When one runner remains, they will complete one victory loop.
