The Select Finance Committee consists of a group of meetings used for the discussion and decision-making process for the District budget. This is the basis for the development of the Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw. which is an annual requirement for municipalities in accordance with the Local Government Act and the Community Charter.
"Local governments must annually adopt a financial plan in accordance with the Local Government Act and the Community Charter. The planning period for the financial plan must include the current fiscal year and the next four fiscal years (five-year plan)." (Government of BC)
